Oxfordshire Agricultural Society Trust
The Background of the Trust
When the Oxfordshire Agricultural Society was wound up in 1978 there were certain assets remaining. By agreement with Members these were converted to a Trust Fund for which charitable status was obtained. Trustees, representing a range of agricultural and wider rural interests in Oxfordshire, were then appointed to manage this Fund and make grants available to support activities which they consider can further the Trust’s objectives.
Trust objectives
The broad objective of the Trust is to promote agricultural efficiency by providing financial assistance for relevant activities to individuals, groups or organisations connected with agriculture/rural activities in Oxfordshire (or in areas closely bordering the County). Preference is usually given to younger people near the start of their careers in the industry, or to Organisations concerned with young people. However, the Trustees also actively consider other applications if they fall within the Trust terms of reference.
